Living at the intersection of science & magic.
Because that’s what “health” is all about, right?
At my 9-5, I design experiences that help folks better navigate the maze of systems they might encounter when trying to access care. And for fun, I think about death*.
…and your Friendly Neighborhood Death Doula.
I’m Maggie, and I’m an Experience Design Strategist.
*Just kidding, it’s way more complex than that. Skip ahead to find out what I mean.
I specialize in Experience Design Strategy in the healthcare sector.
Great, but break it down in human terms please?
-
As a strategist with a design background, it’s no surprise I tend to focus on every single detail of an experience.
Although this can be excruciating for those planning trips with me, it’s a dream when you’re working on a service design-led project. Particularly when you’re designing experiences as complex as a portfolio-level patient support program.
-
I was raised in startups, so although you’ll always find me in the strategy team org chart my PM mindset shines through. Ironically, this is what happens when a strategist starts out on the creative team.
Roadmapping out ecosystems and projects are critical to Experience Design; a service blueprint is only as strong as its PM.

CX is all about how, when, and why we promote our product, creating that sought-after bond between marketing and product (it’s real, I promise!). In my world, this includes deep knowledge and experience with the various channels both patients and healthcare providers use to learn about new treatments or disease state education.
And yes, I said Death Doula
Like most Death & Grief Doulas, my practice is personal.
After a far-too-close-for-comfort relationship with Alzheimer’s and many years of both caregiving and complex grief, I found my calling death and grief work.
Through my studies and training, I am (and always will be) learning how to better support those through all types of loss. This includes hosting the Good Grief Circle, a monthly virtual grief circle and what I like to call "internet death cafe”.
Part of my approach is to offer my expertise in navigating healthcare systems and the more frustrating parts of the dying process. Another part is making space for the “messier” parts of loss; the dark humor, the pile of unwashed dishes, yelling at insurance companies because your loved one just died, and all the things we write off as too silly to cry about.
I promise you, in my book pretty much anything is worth crying about.
Wait, let’s talk about that
“Maggie, I’m really just here to read your CV.”
Ok, fine.
